Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

INKCraft is designed to keep your writing on your own device. This page explains, plainly, what data exists, where it's stored, and the one situation where information leaves your browser.

What we don't do

What's stored locally, on your device

None of this data leaves your browser unless you explicitly export it (Save, PDF export, or Copy) or clear your browser's site data, which deletes it permanently and irreversibly.

Exception 1: the AI Assistant

If you choose to use the optional AI Assistant, the text you select (or your typed question) is sent directly from your browser to whichever AI provider you've selected in Settings — Google Gemini by default, or OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Groq, or OpenRouter if you switch to one of those. This request does not pass through any Kolawole Digital server unless you're using the built-in Gemini backend proxy (which exists solely to hold a shared API key securely and does not log or store your content); otherwise it goes straight from your browser to the provider using an API key you supply yourself in Settings. Review your chosen provider's own privacy policy for how they handle that data. If you never open the AI Assistant panel, no content is ever sent anywhere.

Exception 2: the Contact form

If you submit the form on the Contact page, the name, email address, subject and message you enter are sent to our server and emailed to our inbox so we can reply to you — that's the only thing this data is used for. We also briefly record your IP address to prevent spam abuse of the form; those records are kept only long enough to enforce a submission rate limit and are not linked to your message content or shared with anyone. Message content itself is not stored in a database — it exists only in the email it's delivered as. Submitting the contact form is entirely optional and separate from using the editor itself.

Third-party resources

The interface loads fonts from Google Fonts over HTTPS. No document content is sent as part of that request; only a standard browser request for font files is made. If INKCraft is installed as an offline PWA, previously cached fonts continue to work without any network request at all.

Cookies

INKCraft does not set any cookies.

Children's privacy

INKCraft does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from any user in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of INKCraft after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
