GDPR

Your rights, and how INKCraft's local-first design affects them

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights over personal data that is collected and processed about you. INKCraft is built so that, in the vast majority of cases, there is simply no personal data for us to hold in the first place — because nothing leaves your browser.

Your rights

Where data is stored

All application data — your documents, theme and view preferences, and (if you choose to set one) your AI provider API key — lives in this browser's local storage on this device only. Kolawole Digital does not operate a database of INKCraft users or their documents. The one exception is the Contact page form, covered below.

Data deletion

To delete everything INKCraft has stored in your browser:

  1. Delete individual files from the file panel, or
  2. Open your browser's site settings for this page and choose "Clear data" / "Clear site data", which removes all local storage used by INKCraft.

This action is immediate and cannot be undone by INKCraft, since no copy exists anywhere else. If you've submitted the Contact form, see below for how to request deletion of that message.

The AI Assistant and international transfers

If you use the optional AI Assistant, the specific text you submit is sent directly from your browser to whichever AI provider is selected in Settings — Google Gemini by default, or OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Groq, or OpenRouter if you switch providers — and is subject to that provider's own privacy and data processing terms. Unless you're using the built-in Gemini backend proxy (which exists only to hold a shared API key securely and does not log your content), requests use an API key you supply yourself and go straight from your browser to the provider. This only happens when you actively use that feature.

The Contact form

Submitting the form on the Contact page sends your name, email, subject and message to our server, which emails it to our inbox and briefly records your IP address to prevent spam abuse (see the Privacy Policy for details). This is a normal, one-time email delivery, not a database of visitor records. To request that a message you sent be deleted from our inbox, email us using the details below.

Contact for privacy requests

Because INKCraft doesn't hold your data centrally, most rights above are exercised directly inside the app. For anything else — questions about this page, or about the AI Assistant integration — reach us via the Contact page or email privacy@kolawoledigital.example.
